As a scientist, I'm theoretically interested in how learning & memory systems interact and what algorithms in our mind give rise to specific learning effects (e.g., interleaving effect). I specifically study this in motor skill learning (e.g., piano learning) and declarative learning (textbook/word learning). I also study large language models' memory systems with funding from OpenAI. Aside from my scientific life, I founded a startup called MIDIScale, which accelerates piano learning by leveraging scientific principles of optimal learning techniques.
