LAB DIRECTOR
GRADUATE STUDENTS
I am a fifth year graduate student and I am interested in how humans learn complex skills that involve sequential decisions such as playing video-games or mastering a musical instrument. Recently, I have also explored the interaction of human cognition and AI. In my free time, I enjoy running, reading science fiction and playing chess!
Generally, I am interested in the evolution, development, and interaction of the inherent mechanisms behind cognitive abilities. Currently, I study these phenomena via motor learning through studying, modeling, and simulating how the motor cortex adapts to ever-changing physiological, evolutionary, and environmental demands. My hope is that…
RESEARCH SPECIALIST
UNDERGRADUATE THESIS STUDENT
Kojo is an undergraduate student majoring in Neuroscience with certificates in Cognitive Science and African-American Studies. He is excited about the opportunity to work in the IPA Lab and learn about movement strategies. He is also interested in the applications of cognition and movement strategies for cognitive disorders and…
As a rising senior majoring in Neuroscience and on the pre-medical track, my academic interests have been deeply rooted in understanding neurological disorders such as apraxia of speech and various movement disorders. I am also exploring the option of pursuing a MD/Ph.D. degree to simultaneously pursue my interests in both medicine and research…
Currently my thesis research focuses on error learning and learning processes in students. More specifically I plan on running an experiment to determine how the magnitude of an error affects the learning that occurs afterwards. Along with this, I am generally interested in learning and memory and hope that my research will provide more insight…
UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANTS
I am a first-year interested in both computational psychology and computational neuroscience as tools to develop models for motor learning. Specifically, I have a growing interest in the relationship between error-based learning in the cerebellum and strategy formation in novel tasks. In my free time, I love writing, rhythm games, and board…
Hi! My name is Will, and I'm from Evanston, IL. I'm a psychology major on the premedical track, with specific interests in health psychology and motor learning research. I spend a lot of my time playing soccer, drawing, or just hanging out with friends. Quick fun fact: I'm a middle child!
